Armin on the Internet and downloading: -------------------------------------- In principle it's not allowed and I don't stimulate it. It sounds very weak and schoolteacher-like, but you have to see it like this: the moment you don't pay for a download, you're busy destroying the music industry. The price for CD's is just too high at this moment, but because you're not paying for the music from the internet there is no room for new talent. On the other side, and that's a fact as well, without downloads I would have never gotten this far and I'm happy my show gets spread on the internet. I think that if you were to ask yourself if people would want to pay 25 cents to listen to every new ASOT, a lot of people would say 'yes'. I don't earn any money on the show, really, not a single Euro and I don't *want* to earn anything on it either. But it isn't entire fair to the producers of the music, who offer their tracks for my show and then see their set on the internet. That hurts and I can imagine that. There has to be a system where we meet in the middle. It's a discussion we could talk about for hours. I'm very happy the internet is there and that downloads exist. We just have to find a solution for the problems fast. I've never downloaded myself, by the way. Source: http://vip.partyflock.nl/interview/38.html
