Duncan Stutterheim from ID&T would like to comment...

...on the incident during the show from Rob Gee & band on Sensation Black last Saturday:

Sometimes you are wrong, this was totally wrong..

I had planned to lay down a bit and to stay out of publicity for a while. But I can't
deny this, nor do I want to. I will try to sum up what happened on Sensation, considering
the Gee act, how it was planned, how ID&T deals with it and how I am personally involved in
this case.

The band is about to start in 5 min. "Everybody ready?...Yes. Dunc, are you ready? Yes."
I was the masterbrain behind the scenes of this show, and I was doing the directions and the light.
'Damn what's taking it so long. When are they coming? Hè, hè..'

The band finally reaches the stage. It took too long, the excitement is gone and everybody is
waiting on what's about to happen. First song passes and nobody knows what's going on. A few
folks already had it after one song had and start to make boo sounds and couple of beers already
reached the stage. I can feel the distress in my entire body.
"A visitor destroyed half the mixing panel", somebody from my sound studio says. With the next
song, the sound is totally screwed up. The music is hard itself, but it's going all wrong now.
It sounds like sh*t and the guitars sound like bad violins. The crowd is really pissed of and the
boo sounds are hard to bear.

I've always been calm in several situations but this one is a tough one, really tough. Half of my
crew already left the room. They can't bear this anymore. Not ever, did 20 minutes take that long.
I hope Rob Gee quits after two songs, hoping he senses it too and would start his classic song 'XTC
you got what I need'. But Rob continues, and does not want to quit that easily. The Arena is full of
anger, but I don't want to blow it off, out of respect for Rob Gee. Eventually, the guy pops up onto
the stage and knocks down Rob, and the band kicks the guy. What is this?

Now it's wednesdayevening and I'm writing what I felt and I am feeling now. The incident was displayed
on all websites, even in the United States and Gerard Joling (Dutch singer) even announces it on his
program Shownieuws on SBS6 (Dutch channel). The comments are differred. People who weren't there and
only saw the movies, react quite different than who were actually there. A lot of people are wondering
how this could've happened and why Rob Gee performed with that style of music?

Last year, Deepack did a live performance with drum and that rocked. We wanted to expand that performance.
Rob Gee is a friend of mine for a long time, since his first success in his hardcore-era during the nineties.
I know him for 14 years and and we visit eachothers place. This year I heard music from Gee accompanied by a
large American rockband. It seemed a good idea to use that option.

The music arrived a month ago at our office. 'That is quite some rock' people said. The show would be an half
an hour, but we shortened it to 20 minutes. Some said that was even too long and said 10 minutes would be way
better. Others questioned themselves why they even started this project

Sometimes an idea pops up, and I want to continue with it. A few months ago I said: 'I'll take this one'. Last
month, everything was confirmed, Thursday the band arrived in Holland and Friday we had our first practice in
Studio 80 for about 100 people. I came home and said: 'This one is going to be hard, but I am still going to
give this a shot'.

I knew people wouldn't really like it, but sometimes I am also doing refreshing things, pushing the limit and
see what is possible - and also to see what is acceptable and what is not.

But I would never though that it would be that dramatic and nobody (especially me) would have expected this to
happen. A big mistake I made, is I didn't pay attention to the rest of the lineup. With these DJ's, people
really wanted to party. Rob Gee didn't fit into this lineup at all. And still, I pushed my idea to the limit.
A lot of people around me urged me not to do it. But I was cocky.

The yelling was absolutely awful to bear, I will never forget, but you were right. Of course it was terrible for
Rob Gee to deal with this drama. To be yelled out by an entire stadium when your soul is in your music, then it's
painful. Some people on several forums kill him, but do not know who he is and what he meant for the music. He
doesn't deserve it. For one thing I respect Rob, is that he stood there during the humiliation he had to bear.
On top of that, the movie where he is displayed as a fighter. One of his friends was stabbed on the stage and
that feeling rise when this happened in the Arena.

I would like to say a few words to the guy who climbed the stage and messed up the mixing panel. I can imagine
you are a hero for a lot of people, but I don't approve it. You weren't absolutely thinking what you were doing,
and it could've turned out quite different. Imagine the soundpanel would have controlled ALL sound and everything
was shut down. Everybody had to leave. I can imagine it's all a bunch of loud noise to you, but to climb a stage
for almost 4 meters and beating up an artist in front of an entire stadium? That is way too much.

Now people even gone mad and say their evening was ruined. What kind of nonsense is that? Everything ruined by
20 minutes? I thought we made ourselves clear who would show up, and also explained we would try out something
new. It didn't go as planned, but sometimes we have to try out new things - except for this way.

I can even remember people enjoying their evening up to 7 o'clock in the morning.
Some visitors are complaining on internetforums about Rob Gee's show, and the party was gone after that. I
experienced the evening quite different. Despite the worst half an hour I spent in ID&T, I came out that hole
and I still enjoyed it.

I want to apologize to all the people for this incident, and I won't tryout anymore stuff on these sort of
parties. Furthermore, I would like to thank the DJ's who actually built up a party on their own. And especially,
I would like to thank the people who really continued to party after this drama.

Greetings,
Duncan
